Applying for Social Security Numbers for DACA Grantees
The Social Security Administration issued an advisory for applicants of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA). According to this information, you may apply for a Social Security Number if you are approved for deferred action status and have your employment authorization card.
You must apply in person for your social security number. You can locate your nearest office at http://www.socialsecurity.gov/locator. Complete and sign the application (available at http://www.ssa.gov/online/ss-5.pdf). Bring original documentation of your identity, age, and work authorization.
