The national office of the American Immigration Lawyers Association selected Karol Brown, Attorney at Law, as the recipient of the 2010 AILA Advocacy Award. This Award recognizes her efforts in support of AILA’s legislative agenda.
The AILA Executive Committee will be presenting the Award at a special ceremony during the association's Annual Conference on Immigration Law. The AILA Annual Awards Presentation will take place Saturday, July 3, 2010, 4:15pm-5:45pm, at the Gaylord National Hotel & Convention Center, National Harbor, MD, in the National Harbor 10 Ballroom.
In describing the reasons for the award, AILA states in its conference brochure:
"To call Karol Brown an advocate for justice is certainly an understatement. Her relentless and passionate work exemplifies the utmost qualities of our organization and its principles. Most recently Karol has dedicated her time coordinating the Washington Chapter’s 'Why We Need Immigration Reform: A Collection of Case Examples.' The book was shared with Members of Congress and their staff during the National Day of Action, and includes real life stories that exemplify the real consequences of different aspects of our broken immigration system. It is exactly the tool needed to show the human face of immigration policy, and one of the many reasons AILA is presenting Karol Brown with the 2010 AILA Advocacy Award."
Congratulations to Karol for receiving this prestigious national award!
